“SONGS OF THE WIND” — Ukrainian romance songs of our Home, at the Franko House
For the 770th anniversary of Lviv
The Theater Center “Word and Voice” invites you to a warm, heartfelt evening — “SONGS OF THE WIND at the Franko House” featuring Nataliia Polovynka and the Phoenix Quartet, dedicated to the Day of Lviv.
Amid the greenery and tranquility of the courtyard of the Franko House, we will hear romance songs that we remember as we remember ourselves. We will be able to sing along, and then return to our homes carrying with us, together with these songs, a somewhat forgotten sense of kinship, silence, peace, and fullness — that state “when everyone in the world is at home.”
At the center is the voice of Nataliia Polovynka — a voice that does not imitate or quote, but reveals the living sound of the Ukrainian Song, with its tenderness, pain, and light.
Here is how Ivan Malkovych addresses Nataliia Polovynka — and through her, the people of Lviv — on his page:
“…I have long dreamed of at least being on the same stage with you! For me, without exaggeration, you are the most unique Ukrainian artist today. Only a pure and great soul can speak to people with such a crystal-clear voice as yours!”
So we invite you to an intimate and at the same time festive event, where music becomes a space in which we will hear our own hearts.
We will be waiting for you at the Franko House!
‼️ This is a charity event. Part of the proceeds will be directed to a unit of the 116th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “Black Wing,” which is defending the Kharkiv region.
